How can I change the home featured content 10 slides to 5 slide and is it possible to have 20 posts for the category,tag pages.

You can set the number of slides on your admin panel settings>smooth slider>Number of Posts in the Slideshow

Our pagination directly uses the wordpress core system. You can set the number of posts per page from; settings > reading > Blog pages show at most
